Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

We begin our 10 days tour from Marrakech to Tangier with an arrival transfer arranged around your flight schedule. We take you to your accommodation or the closest accessible vehicle drop-off point if your riad is inside the medina. Any remaining walking or luggage arrangements are clarified before arrival. The first day remains flexible so that you have time to settle in after your journey.

Your First Evening in Marrakech

Depending on arrival time, you may relax at your accommodation or explore the surrounding neighborhood. Travelers arriving earlier can discover the area around Jemaa el-Fnaa, where market streets and food stalls introduce the atmosphere of the city. We keep any suggested activities appropriate to your schedule and energy level. We spend our first night in Marrakech.

Day 2: Guided Discovery of Marrakech

Historic Palaces and Traditional Architecture

After breakfast, we arrange a guided introduction to Marrakech, selecting visits according to your interests and the opening arrangements of individual attractions. The route may include Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, or the Saadian Tombs. We confirm the chosen monuments and any entrance costs before the visit. These sites offer opportunities to appreciate decorated courtyards, carved wood, tilework, and other details of Moroccan craftsmanship.

Exploring the Medina and Souks

We continue through sections of the Marrakech medina, where narrow streets connect neighborhood shops, workshops, and traditional markets. The guided walk helps make sense of the medina’s layout while introducing its daily activity. Shopping remains optional, and we can adjust the time spent browsing to your preferences. We also explore the surroundings of the Koutoubia Mosque, appreciating its exterior and position in the city skyline.

A Flexible Afternoon

After lunch, you can enjoy free time or include another prearranged visit. An optional trip to Jardin Majorelle can be considered subject to ticket availability. Alternatively, the afternoon can remain free for relaxation before our departure toward the mountains. We spend our second night in Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

Crossing the High Atlas Mountains

We leave Marrakech early and travel toward the High Atlas Mountains. The scenery gradually changes from foothills and cultivated land to mountain valleys and hillside villages. Our route crosses Tizi n’Tichka, with stops at suitable viewpoints when road conditions and parking permit. This is a winding mountain journey, so travelers who experience motion sickness should prepare before departure. We include practical breaks for refreshments and time to stretch.

Exploring Aït Ben Haddou

After the mountain crossing, we continue to Aït Ben Haddou, a fortified settlement known for its earthen houses, towers, and defensive walls. We allow time to explore on foot, following passages between traditional buildings. Higher sections offer views across the settlement and surrounding landscape. The paths include steps and uneven surfaces. Comfortable footwear is useful, and we can discuss a shorter walk if needed.

Continuing toward the Dades Valley

Following a lunch stop, we continue through Ouarzazate and toward the landscapes around Skoura and the Valley of Roses. Because this is a substantial driving day, we keep additional sightseeing selective. We focus on the main stops while allowing enough time to reach our accommodation. By evening, we arrive in the Dades Valley area for an overnight stay, with dinner according to the selected package.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

Journey toward Tinghir

After breakfast, we travel toward Tinghir and the Todra Valley, where palm groves and traditional settlements contrast with the surrounding rocky terrain. A viewpoint stop may be included before we continue into the gorge.

Walking in Todra Gorge

At Todra Gorge, steep cliffs rise above the valley floor. We stop for a short walk through an accessible section, allowing time to appreciate the rock walls and take photographs. The visit offers a welcome break from driving. Longer hikes or climbing activities require additional time and separate arrangements.

Arrival in Merzouga

We continue toward Merzouga, stopping for lunch along the route. As we travel through the Erfoud region, the scenery becomes increasingly open. The Erg Chebbi dunes appear beyond the plains as we approach the desert. On arrival, we prepare for the arranged excursion and confirm luggage handling.

Camel Excursion and Desert Camp Overnight

Our camel excursion in Merzouga provides a slower introduction to the dunes, with time to appreciate their ridgelines and changing shadows. Where arrival time and conditions permit, we schedule the excursion around the late-afternoon light. Sunset views depend on the weather. Travelers who prefer not to ride a camel can discuss an alternative vehicle transfer before booking. At camp, we settle into our tents and enjoy dinner. Some camps offer music in a communal gathering area, while clear skies may provide opportunities for stargazing. We confirm the tent category, bathroom facilities, and evening arrangements in advance.

Day 5: Explore Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi Region

Morning in the Desert

Travelers who wish to rise early can enjoy the morning light around camp before breakfast. With another day in the Merzouga region, we have time to explore beyond the overnight experience. After the arranged departure from camp, we begin the activities specified in your itinerary.

A Local Excursion around the Dunes

A prearranged 4×4 excursion around Merzouga can introduce rocky plains, small settlements, and open desert landscapes. We confirm the route, duration, vehicle, and included stops in the quotation. Access and ground conditions may require adjustments. Any visit involving local households takes place only where hosts welcome guests. We respect their privacy and ask permission before photography.

Khamlia and Optional Activities

A visit to Khamlia may be included to discover the village’s musical traditions. Where a performance is arranged, we clarify whether the contribution is included or paid separately. The afternoon can include relaxation or optional activities such as quad biking, buggy driving, or sandboarding. These activities require separate confirmation and may involve additional charges. We spend the night at a hotel or riad in the Merzouga area, providing a comfortable base before the long journey north.

Day 6: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Early Departure toward Fes

After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin one of the longest driving days of the tour. An early start helps us manage the distance while allowing appropriate breaks. We travel through the Errachidia region and Ziz Valley, where palm groves and cultivated land contrast with the dry surrounding slopes. A viewpoint stop may be included where timing and access permit.

Midelt and the Middle Atlas

We continue toward Midelt, with lunch planned according to our progress. The afternoon journey takes us through the Middle Atlas region, introducing woodland and higher ground after the desert landscapes. Depending on the schedule, we may stop near cedar woodland or briefly in Ifrane. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed; if animals are present, we observe them without feeding them.

Arrival in Fes

We reach Fes in the evening and settle into our accommodation for a two-night stay. For riads inside pedestrian streets, we confirm the nearest accessible vehicle drop-off point and the remaining arrival arrangements.

Day 7: Guided Exploration of Fes

Discovering the Historic Medina

After breakfast, we arrange a guided introduction to Fes, focusing on its historic streets, traditional architecture, and craft districts. The visit involves walking through narrow lanes and uneven surfaces. We adapt the pace and selected stops to your interests and mobility requirements. Our route may include a historic madrasa, neighborhood markets, and streets associated with traditional trades, subject to access arrangements.

Craftsmanship and Cultural Landmarks

Throughout the visit, we appreciate the details of carved wood, plaster decoration, tilework, and courtyard design. A tannery viewpoint may be included if desired. Viewing terraces are often reached through shops, and purchases remain optional. At religious sites with restricted access, we appreciate the permitted exterior views and surrounding streets. The remaining afternoon can be used for relaxation or further independent exploration. We spend our second night in Fes.

Day 8: Fes – Chefchaouen

Traveling toward the Rif Mountains

After breakfast, we leave Fes and travel toward Chefchaouen. The journey introduces northern Morocco’s changing countryside and mountain scenery. We include practical breaks while keeping enough time for an afternoon introduction to the town.

Exploring Chefchaouen’s Medina

After arrival and check-in, we explore the lanes of Chefchaouen, known for its blue-painted streets and mountain setting. The town offers a different atmosphere from the larger medinas of Marrakech and Fes. We allow time for walking, photography, and a relaxed stop in a central square. The streets include slopes and steps, so comfortable shoes are useful. We respect residents’ privacy and avoid photographing people or entering private doorways without permission. We spend the night in Chefchaouen.

Day 9: Chefchaouen – Tangier

A Final Morning in Chefchaouen

Depending on the agreed departure time, we enjoy a final walk or a relaxed breakfast before leaving Chefchaouen. Morning provides another opportunity to appreciate the medina before continuing toward the coast.

Journey to Tangier

We travel toward Tangier, with practical stops along the route. A visit in Tetouan can be discussed in advance, but adding it reduces the time available in Tangier that afternoon. We confirm the preferred balance when preparing your itinerary.

An Introduction to Tangier

After arrival, we check into our accommodation and begin exploring if time permits. A walk around the medina and kasbah area introduces the city’s historic streets and coastal setting. We reserve any remaining visits for the following day, depending on your departure schedule. We spend our final night in Tangier.

Day 10: Tangier Sightseeing and Departure

Explore According to Your Departure Time

Our final day is arranged around your flight or ferry. Travelers with a later departure may have time for additional sightseeing in Tangier. Options can include further exploration of the medina or an excursion toward Cap Spartel, subject to available time. Any visits requiring tickets or additional driving are agreed beforehand.

Departure Transfer

We finish with a transfer to the confirmed airport or port. For ferry departures, we verify the exact terminal because Tangier’s city port and Tanger Med are different locations. Transfer timing is planned around your ticket and required check-in arrangements.
